Day 1 – Bergen Arrival

Arrive in Bergen, where your private transfer driver will meet you at the airport and bring you into the city center for check-in at your hotel. The rest of the day is left open so you can settle in after the journey and enjoy your first look at Norway’s west coast.
Bergen is one of the best places to begin a coastal voyage through Norway. The city wraps around the harbor with mountains rising behind it, and much of the center can easily be explored on foot. Around Bryggen, you’ll find narrow alleyways, old wooden buildings, seafood restaurants, cafés, and small shops spread along the waterfront.
Depending on your arrival time, you may want to walk around the harbor area, take the funicular for views over the city, or simply relax before boarding the ship tomorrow evening. Your local host can also recommend restaurants and places to explore nearby if you want to make the most of your first evening in Bergen.

Day 2 – Bergen, Mount Ulriken & Havila Boarding

Day 2 begins with a pre-voyage excursion around Bergen before boarding the Havila ship later in the evening.
The included experience combines time in the city with a visit to Mount Ulriken, one of the highest viewpoints overlooking Bergen. As you head above the city, the views open up across the harbor, surrounding islands, mountains, and sections of coastline you’ll soon be sailing along on board Havila.
Your guide will help with the day’s logistics before you transfer to the port later in the afternoon to board HS Havila Pollux. Once onboard, there is time to settle into your Balcony Junior Suite, explore the ship, and get familiar with the lounges, restaurants, and viewing decks before departure.
At 20:30, the ship leaves Bergen and begins sailing north along the Norwegian coast. Watching the city slowly disappear behind the ship is one of the highlights of the first evening onboard.

Day 3 – The Western Coast

This morning, you’ll wake up on board Havila as the ship continues north along Norway’s western coastline. During breakfast and throughout the morning, the scenery constantly changes outside the ship, with fjords, islands, fishing villages, waterfalls, and small ports appearing along the route.
Today’s excursion focuses on rural Norway and the quieter areas surrounding the Hjørundfjord. Compared with some of Norway’s more visited fjords, this region feels much more remote, with steep mountains, tiny villages, and narrow stretches of water surrounded by dramatic scenery.
After spending time ashore, you’ll return on board and continue sailing from Florø toward Molde. The afternoon and evening are spent onboard while the ship continues north. Many guests spend this time out on deck, relaxing in the lounges, or watching the coastline pass by from their balcony cabins while the voyage continues overnight.

Day 4 – Travel Through the Central Coastline
Today, the ship continues north from Kristiansund toward Rørvik, sailing through smaller islands, open stretches of sea, and coastal waterways that are difficult to experience any other way.
During the day, you’ll leave the ship for Trondheim and Nidaros by vintage tram excursion. Trondheim feels very different from Bergen, with a slower pace and a stronger connection to Norway’s medieval history. During the visit, you’ll see parts of the historic center, ride the vintage tram, and visit the area around Nidaros Cathedral.
Your guide during the excursion will introduce the city and explain more about Trondheim’s role in Norwegian history before you return on board later in the day.
Back on board Havila, the voyage continues north through the evening. This section of the coast feels more open and remote, with fewer larger towns and longer stretches spent sailing between ports.

Day 5 – Helgeland and Lofoten Islands

Your 5th day is one of the busiest and most scenic days of the voyage as the ship continues north from Brønnøysund toward Svolvær through the Helgeland Coast and toward the Lofoten Islands.
Your first excursion today is a RIB boat trip to Saltstraumen combined with a sea eagle safari. The area is known for its strong tidal currents and Arctic wildlife, and being out on the water gives a completely different perspective compared with viewing the coastline from the ship itself.
After returning on board and continuing further north, the evening excursion takes you to Stamsund for the Feast with the Viking Chieftain experience. This part of the day focuses on Viking history and traditions connected to northern Norway and the Lofoten Islands.
Back on board later in the evening, the ship continues sailing through the islands overnight while the mountain scenery changes constantly outside the ship.

Day 6 – Explore Vesterålen and Tromsø

Today is spent continuing north on board Havila as the ship sails through the Vesterålen region toward Tromsø. Throughout the day, the ship stops at smaller ports along the coast before continuing further into northern Norway.
A lot of the experience today is simply being on board while the scenery changes outside. You’ll pass fishing villages, small islands, open stretches of water, and mountain scenery that becomes more dramatic the further north you travel. Some parts of the route feel very remote, with long sections where there is very little besides coastline, sea, and scattered houses near the water.
Your included excursion today is Tromsø, Capital of the Arctic. Once ashore, your local guide will introduce Tromsø and explain more about the city’s role in Arctic exploration, fishing, and life above the Arctic Circle.
After the excursion, you’ll return on board and continue sailing north through the evening.

Day 7 – Northern Finnmark
This morning, you’ll wake up on board Havila in northern Finnmark as the ship continues through one of the most remote parts of the Norwegian coastline.
The scenery feels very different here compared with southern Norway. There are fewer villages, longer distances between ports, and wide open sea views for much of the day. Spending time out on deck becomes part of the experience as the ship moves through Arctic landscapes that feel far removed from the cities further south.
Today’s main excursion is to the North Cape plateau. Reaching the plateau gives you the chance to stand above the Barents Sea at one of the northernmost points regularly visited in mainland Europe.
After returning to the ship, the voyage continues toward Berlevåg while Havila sails further through Arctic Norway overnight.

Day 8 – The High North
Today, the ship reaches Kirkenes, close to the borders with Finland and Russia. This is the furthest point north on the voyage before the ship begins heading south again later in the day.
While docked in Kirkenes, you’ll join the Snow Resort Kirkenes excursion. Your local guide will introduce you to more about life in this far north, where winter conditions shape everyday life for much of the year.
After the excursion, you’ll return to the ship as Havila begins sailing south again. Even though you’ll revisit parts of the same coastline over the next few days, the journey often feels different heading in the opposite direction, with new ports, different sailing times, and changing light along the coast.
The evening is spent onboard as the ship continues south through the Arctic coastline.

Day 9 – Continue Back Southward
Today is spent sailing south from Mehamn toward Tromsø onboard Havila. The return journey gives you another opportunity to experience the northern coastline, often at completely different times of day than during the northbound voyage.
There is plenty of time today to enjoy the ship itself. Many guests spend the day watching the coastline from the observation lounges, walking the outdoor decks between ports, or relaxing in their cabins while the ship continues south.
This evening’s experience is a Midnight Concert at Tromsø Cathedral. The concert offers a quieter cultural break from the voyage before returning on board later in the evening.
Once back on the ship, Havila continues sailing south overnight.

Day 10 – Vesterålen and Lofoten Islands

Today, the voyage continues south from Tromsø toward Stamsund, once again passing through the Vesterålen and Lofoten island regions.
This stretch of coastline is one of the highlights of the full voyage, with sharp mountain peaks, fishing villages, narrow channels, and small harbors appearing throughout the day as the ship moves between ports.
Today’s included excursion is A Taste of Vesterålen, where your guide introduces local food traditions and everyday life in northern Norway before you return onboard later in the day.
Back on the ship, the voyage continues south through the evening while the scenery gradually changes again as you move further away from the Arctic north.

Day 11 – The Helgeland Coast
Today is a quieter day onboard as the ship continues south from Bodø toward Rørvik along the Helgeland Coast.
With no major excursions scheduled, this is a good chance to slow down and enjoy the voyage itself. The ship continues stopping at smaller coastal ports throughout the day while sailing past islands, fishing communities, and long stretches of open water.
Many guests spend this day relaxing onboard, enjoying the restaurant and lounges, or simply watching the scenery from the deck as the ship continues south.
As the voyage moves further away from northern Norway, the coastline begins changing again with softer landscapes, more villages, and more sheltered waterways.

Day 12 – Arrive in Trondheim

This morning, the Havila voyage comes to an end as the ship arrives in Trondheim.
After disembarking, your transfer will take you from the port to your hotel before you join a small group historical walking tour later in the day.
During the tour, you’ll walk through parts of Trondheim’s old center with a local guide, passing colorful wooden buildings, quieter side streets, and areas along the river that give the city its character. Along the way, you’ll hear more about Trondheim’s history and how it became one of Norway’s most important early cities.
The rest of the afternoon and evening are free. You may want to spend more time around Bakklandet, stop at one of the riverside cafés, or walk back toward Nidaros Cathedral before your final train journey tomorrow.
Overnight at Scandic Bakklandet Hotel

Day 13 – Depart Trondheim by Train

Today you’ll transfer to the train station and board the direct train from Trondheim to Oslo.
After many days spent sailing along the coast, today’s journey gives you a different look at Norway as the train crosses forests, valleys, rivers, mountain areas, and farmland through the interior of the country.
The journey is long but comfortable, and many travelers enjoy the slower pace after the coastal voyage. There is plenty of time to relax, enjoy the scenery, and reflect on the journey north and south along the Norwegian coast.
After arriving in Oslo, the rest of the evening is free before your departure tomorrow.
Overnight at Clarion Hotel The Hub

Day 14 – Depart Oslo
Your final day in Norway begins in Oslo. Depending on your flight time, there may be time for a final walk around the city center or breakfast nearby before your transfer arrives.
Your private transfer will collect you from the hotel and bring you to the airport for your onward flight.
