Day 1 – Arrival in Edinburgh

Today we leave Scotland and travel south into England,  following the scenic coastal route through Northumberland before continuing toward the historic city of York.

You stop at Bamburgh Castle, dramatically set on a ridge above long sandy beaches and the North Sea. You can explore parts of the castle and grounds, and enjoy expansive views along the coastline. Northumberland Coast

Continuing south, we follow the Northumberland coast where wide beaches and quiet fishing villages appear along the route. Derwentwater and Lakeside Walk

A gentle walk along the shoreline gives you peaceful views across the water, with changing angles of the surrounding peaks. Today, you travel into Wales, with your driver-guide keeping the route under five hours and breaking up the journey with well-chosen stops. As we continue south-west, the landscape gradually becomes more rugged, with rolling hills, valleys, and traditional stone villages appearing more frequently along the route. Today is dedicated to the landscapes of Snowdonia, with a mix of mountain viewpoints and charming villages. 

Snowdon Viewpoints and Valley Scenery

The morning begins with a drive through the valleys surrounding Mount Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales. Along the route, we stop at several viewpoints where you can see rugged peaks rising above lakes and green valleys below. The scenery here feels wild and open, offering some of the most impressive mountain views in the region.

Betws-y-Coed

Next, we visit Betws-y-Coed, a charming village set where rivers and forests meet in the heart of Snowdonia. Walking through the village reveals stone bridges, traditional buildings, and small shops tucked between wooded hills. It’s an easy place to explore on foot, with riverside paths and cafés providing a relaxing stop during the day.

Llanberis Pass

Later, your driver-guide follows the Llanberis Pass, one of the most scenic mountain roads in Wales. Today, we leave the mountains of North Wales and travel east into England. Your driver-guide leads the journey through the Welsh countryside before crossing the border into Shropshire and continuing toward the historic town of Stratford-upon-Avon.

Shrewsbury

Our first stop is the historic town of Shrewsbury, set in a loop of the River Severn. Walking through the center reveals narrow medieval streets, timber-framed houses, and small market squares that give the town a strong sense of character. It’s a pleasant place to pause during the journey, with cafés, independent shops, and quiet riverside paths to explore.

Stratford-upon-Avon Riverside Walk

By early afternoon, we arrive in Stratford-upon-Avon, a charming market town best known as the birthplace of William Shakespeare. Walking through the center reveals half-timbered Tudor buildings, small courtyards, and historic streets that feel largely unchanged for centuries. You’ll also visit iconic Shakespeare sites such as Anne Hathaway’s Cottage and the Holy Trinity Church.

Day 10 – Stratford-upon-Avon to London

Today we continue south toward London, stopping along the way to explore another historic English city and one of Britain’s most important royal residences.

Oxford Historic Center

The morning begins in Oxford, home to one of the oldest universities. Walking through the historic center reveals stone colleges, quiet courtyards, and centuries-old streets filled with academic tradition. As you wander through the city, you’ll see famous college buildings, libraries, and chapels that have shaped Oxford’s identity for generations.

Windsor Castle

Next, we visit Windsor Castle, one of the oldest and largest occupied castles in the world. The castle has served as a royal residence for nearly a thousand years. Walking through the grounds reveals grand towers, historic courtyards, and views across the surrounding town, offering a fascinating look into Britain’s royal heritage.

Arrival in London

By the afternoon, we arrive in London, where your driver-guide brings you to your hotel. As you enter the capital, you’ll begin to see some of the city’s famous landmarks and busy streets. After checking in, the evening is free to relax or take a short walk to get your first feel for the city.

Day 11 – Departure from London

Your final morning in London is free to enjoy the city at your own pace before your driver-guide transfers you to the airport in the Mercedes V-Class.
