Portugal has many famous locations and attractions, but also plenty of hidden gems. Visitors arrive for the famous highlights like Porto’s riverside streets, the terraced vineyards of the Douro Valley, Lisbon’s historic neighborhoods, and the golden cliffs of the Algarve. But there’s so much more to Portugal, such as medieval towns, Roman ruins, mountain landscapes, and vineyard valleys, to name a few.
Explore our itineraries below to find the route that suits you best, or let us create something entirely bespoke.

Portugal’s capital is built across a series of hills, with views opening out over the river at almost every turn. Historic trams move through narrow streets, while neighborhoods like Alfama keep a more traditional feel. Landmarks, viewpoints, and everyday city life all sit close together, making it an easy place to explore at a relaxed pace.

Set along the Douro River, Porto is known for its riverside setting and historic center. Colorful buildings line the waterfront, while narrow streets lead up through the old town. It’s also the home of port wine, with cellars just across the river offering tastings and a look into the region’s wine heritage.

Along Portugal’s southern coast, the Algarve is known for its cliffs, beaches, and coastal towns. Dramatic rock formations meet the Atlantic, with quieter stretches alongside livelier seaside spots. It’s a region that works just as well for relaxing as it does for exploring.

Just outside Lisbon, Sintra feels completely different from the capital. Set among forested hills, it’s known for its palaces, gardens, and winding roads. Brightly coloured buildings and historic estates are scattered across the landscape, giving the area a unique and slightly surreal feel.

Following the river inland, the Douro Valley is one of Portugal’s most scenic regions. Vineyards stretch across the hillsides, with small towns and quiet roads running alongside the river. It’s a slower-paced area, focused on wine, views, and the landscape itself.
