Day 1: Arrival in Helsinki

Icy winter view of Helsinki harbor at dusk with ferris wheel, frozen sea, and Helsinki Cathedral illuminated in the background
Helsinki, Finland

After arrival, your private driver meets you and transfers you to the center of Helsinki.

Once checked in, the city is yours to ease into at your own pace. In the afternoon, you’ll meet your private food guide for an immersive introduction to Finnish cuisine.

This is not simply a tasting tour, but a curated walk through Helsinki’s culinary identity, moving between historic spaces like the Old Market Hall and smaller, local venues.

You’ll sample traditional flavors such as cold-smoked reindeer and Finnish bread cheese paired with cloudberry, alongside the country’s deeply rooted coffee culture. Throughout, your guide connects each tasting to Finland’s history, geography, and daily life, offering a grounded and engaging perspective on the city.

Overnight: Helsinki

Day 2: Porvoo & Finnish Sauna Ritual

Colorful wooden houses and the historic Porvoo Cathedral in Porvoo Old Town, Finland, during winter at sunset
Porvoo, Finland

In the morning of day 2, you will travel with your guide to Porvoo, one of the country’s oldest towns.

The journey itself is short and scenic, and on arrival, you’ll explore the old town on foot. Wooden houses, narrow streets, and the riverside setting create a strong sense of place, while your guide brings context to the town’s role in Finnish history and culture.

After time to explore independently, perhaps browsing small boutiques or enjoying a relaxed lunch, return to Helsinki for a private sauna experience.

Set beside the Baltic Sea, this is a calm and unhurried ritual rather than a scheduled activity.

The warmth of the sauna, the cool sea air, and the option of a cold plunge create a rhythm that is both restorative and deeply local. Afterward, you may linger with a drink overlooking the water, allowing the experience to settle naturally.

In the evening, board the Santa Claus Express for your overnight journey north. Your private cabin offers a comfortable and quiet transition as the landscapes gradually shift toward the Arctic.

Overnight: Sleeper Train

Day 3: Arrival in Lapland & First Arctic Experiences

Tourists on a snowmobile adventure across snowy mountain under the aurora borealis in Scandinavia during winter.
Northern Lights, Finland

Arriving in Rovaniemi, your private driver transfers you directly to your resort, set within the stillness of the Arctic landscape.

Your first experience is a lakeside sauna, offering a gentle introduction to Lapland’s rhythm. Moving between warmth and crisp Arctic air, this is a moment to reset after travel and begin to connect with the environment.

As evening falls, head out into the wilderness by snowmobile.

The journey itself is part of the experience, following your guide through darkened forests and across open terrain, away from any light pollution. Stops are made to watch the sky, not rushed, but patient and unforced. If conditions allow, the Northern Lights may appear, shifting above in silence.

Overnight: Lapland

Day 4: Husky Safari & Reindeer Experience

Tourist enjoying a reindeer sledge ride in snowy Rovaniemi, Finland, showcasing winter travel and unique Arctic experiences
Lapland, Finland.

Today is centered around two of Lapland’s most iconic traditions, each offering a different perspective on the landscape.

Begin with a husky safari through forest trails. The experience is both energizing and peaceful, the sound of the sled moving across snow, the rhythm of the dogs, and the stillness of the surroundings combining into something uniquely Arctic.

There is time to connect with the huskies afterward, warming up with a drink while learning about their role in northern life.

Later in the day, the pace shifts again with a reindeer sleigh ride.

Wrapped in warm blankets, you move slowly through the winter landscape, guided by the gentle rhythm of the reindeer. This is a quieter, more reflective experience, especially as evening approaches and the light begins to fade.

Overnight: Lapland

Day 5: Snowmobile Journey to the Arctic Circle

Tourists riding snowmobiles through the snowy landscape of Lapland near Saariselka, Finland, under a clear blue sky.
Lapland, Finland

Today blends movement, landscape, and one of Lapland’s most recognizable locations.

Set out by snowmobile, traveling through forest trails and open terrain toward Santa Claus Village. The journey is as much a highlight as the destination, offering a sense of freedom and immersion in the Arctic environment.

On arrival, take time to explore at your own pace, crossing the Arctic Circle and experiencing the atmosphere of the village. Your guide ensures the experience remains relaxed and well-paced, avoiding the feel of a typical group visit.

Overnight: Lapland

Day 6: Ice Fishing & Northern Lights Camp

Father and son ice fishing on a frozen lake in Scandinavia, enjoying a sunny winter day outdoors
Ice Fishing, Finland

Your final full day focuses on slower, more traditional Arctic experiences.

Begin with ice fishing on a frozen lake, a simple but meaningful part of Finnish life.

Seated on reindeer skins beside a small fire, you watch as your guide prepares the ice and lines. The experience is less about the result and more about the setting, stillness, patience, and connection to the landscape.

In the evening, travel by snowtrain into the wilderness to a remote Northern Lights camp. Here, far from any artificial light, you gather around an open fire with warm drinks and local food. The setting is designed for comfort as much as experience, allowing you to watch the sky in a relaxed and unhurried way.

Overnight: Lapland

Day 7: Departure from Lapland

After breakfast, your private transfer will take you to the airport.

Depending on your departure time, there may be an opportunity for a final short walk or quiet moment before leaving the Arctic behind.
