Day 1 – Arrival in Inari & Aurora Snowmobiling

After arriving in Ivalo, your transfer will take you north through the snowy landscape to Wilderness Hotel Inari. Located beside Lake Inari, the hotel sits surrounded by forests and Arctic wilderness far above the Arctic Circle.
After settling into your Aurora Cabin, the evening includes your first Northern Lights experience in Lapland.
Aurora Snowmobiling
Tonight’s excursion takes you out by snowmobile into the dark Arctic landscape surrounding Inari. Following trails through forests and open snowy areas, the route heads away from artificial light toward places where the chances of seeing the Northern Lights are strongest.
During the excursion, there’ll be time to stop beside a campfire for warm drinks while watching the sky and the surrounding wilderness. If conditions are clear, you may see the Aurora moving overhead across the Arctic sky.
Overnight in Inari.
Day 2 – From Lake to Plate Arctic Experience

Ice Fishing & Arctic Lakes
Together with a local guide, you’ll head out onto the frozen lakes surrounding Inari to experience traditional ice fishing methods still used in Lapland today. Traveling by snowmobile sleigh, you’ll learn how locals fish beneath the ice while checking nets and traps spread across the frozen lake.
Part of the experience includes hearing how these lakes have provided food for families in the region for generations.
Lunch by the Fire
After spending time out on the ice, the day continues with a meal of freshly caught fish prepared over an open fire. Sitting around the fire in the middle of the Arctic landscape is a big part of the experience and offers a more local side of Lapland beyond standard sightseeing activities.
Overnight in Inari.
Day 3 – Siida Museum & Aurora Sleigh Experience

Today combines Sámi culture, Arctic history, and another evening spent searching for the Northern Lights.
Siida Museum & Nature Center
The Siida Museum is one of the most important museums in Finnish Lapland and focuses on Sámi culture, Arctic nature, and life in the far north. During your guided visit, you’ll learn more about the Sámi people, their traditions, seasonal lifestyle, and connection to reindeer herding across Lapland.
Outside, the open-air museum features traditional buildings and structures spread across the snowy grounds. There’s also time to browse the Siida shop, which sells local handicrafts and Sámi-inspired products.
Aurora Hunt by Heated Sleigh
Later in the evening, you’ll head back into the wilderness in a heated sleigh pulled by snowmobile. Wrapped in blankets inside the sleigh, you’ll travel quietly through the snowy landscape before stopping at a campfire site for warm drinks and snacks.
With little artificial light around Inari, the area offers strong conditions for Northern Lights viewing during winter when the skies are clear.
Overnight in Inari.
Day 4 – Private Sámi Home Visit

Today offers a more personal introduction to life in northern Lapland through a private visit with a local Sámi reindeer herding family.
Sámi Home Visit
The visit starts at the family’s reindeer enclosure, where you’ll spend time up close with the animals while learning how reindeer are raised and cared for throughout the year. As you feed the reindeer, the family will explain how herding still plays an important role in Sámi life across northern Finland, especially in smaller communities around Lapland.
Afterward, you’ll be welcomed into the family home for coffee or tea alongside homemade berry cake prepared with local berries. During the visit, the family shares stories about daily life, traditions, and Sámi culture while answering questions in a relaxed and personal setting.
Rather than being a museum-style experience, the visit gives you time inside a real family home and offers a closer look at everyday life in Arctic Lapland.
Overnight in Inari.
Day 5 – Meet the Reindeer & Departure

Your final day in Lapland includes one last experience connected to Sámi culture before transferring back to the airport.
Meet the Reindeer
During the excursion, you’ll spend time with reindeer while hearing more about their importance across northern Finland and Sámi culture. Your guide will explain how reindeer are cared for throughout the year and how herding traditions continue across Lapland today.
There’s also time to feed the animals and interact with them up close before returning to the hotel.
Departure from Inari
Later in the day, your transfer returns to Ivalo Airport. Before leaving Lapland, there’s time to take in the final views of the snowy forests, frozen lakes, and Arctic wilderness surrounding Inari.
